Facebook Launches Bingo For Money App

It was only a matter of time before the social networking giant Facebook jumped on the bingo for money bandwagon. Since going public a few months ago, the company has been looking for other outlets to boost their income. This has led to an onslaught of advertisements and new games.

This app has been developed by London based gambling provider Gamesys. The game is a bingo based application that is available as both a real money and bingo for fun, free play version. The app is only usable for Facebook’s UK members only.

The bingo application is not accessible directly from your normal Facebook home page as it requires a separate log in. However, all activity is posted on user’s timeline and can be seen by all your friends.

Gamesys are the sole creators of the app and are a licensed and regulated company in Gibraltar.
The UK only stipulation is mainly due to the fact that Gamesys operates under the UK jurisdiction. This is also due to the strong gambling market in the UK as a spokeswoman for Facebook said.

“Real money gaming is a popular and well-regulated activity in the UK, and we are allowing a partner to offer their games to adult users on the Facebook platform in a safe and controlled manner.”

For those worried about the possibility of an outbreak of gambling problems. Both Facebook and Gamesys have put numerous methods of preventing abuse into the application. Only those 18 and over are allowed access. Furthermore, there is an abundant source of self help and information on gambling addictions as well as spending limits to help reduce the risk of gambling problems.

This is exciting news for those who enjoy playing free bingo games and real money bingo online. We can only hope that this means more will follow shortly. Typically Facebook takes a 30% cut to allow 3rd parties on site, but no specifics have been released as to how much Gamesys will have to pay for such a large user base.
