Colorado Organization Saving the Environment with Cow Pattie Bingo

inner08072015Yeehaw, cowpokes! It’s once again time for the Eagle Valley Land Trust’s annual fund raising extravaganza, and, as always, it’s got the one special ingredient that no money-making endeavor should ever be without: cow poop. While it may seem like a joke, the EVLT, which is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving land in Colorado, takes its preservation efforts seriously. The annual event, which is lovingly referred to as Cow Pattie Bingo, serves as a major source of income for the organization’s ongoing conservation work.

Cow Pattie Bingo is a unique twist on a classic game, and it’s the main event of an entire festival meant to bring conservation-minded people together. Sure, you’ll find all of the festival favorites – including booths with foods and drinks, music, bull riding, lasso roping and a collection of games – but this particular celebration is unique because of the inclusion of Ol’ Bessie. This special cow, which was recruited from the local chapter of 4-H, is free to roam a huge bingo card laid out in the town’s park. Each of the 600 squares are available for purchase for just $20 each, and, if Ol’ Bessie decides to grace your square with the costly cow pie, you’ll lay claim to $1,000 and a two night stay at a luxurious lodge.

If you were just thinking that there should be more poop-related games, you’re in luck! For the first time ever, this year’s festival will host Ba-Ba Bingo, which features a lovely 4-H sheep named Ol’ Boo. The game’s rules are eerily familiar to the Cow Pattie variation, but the prizes for sheep bingo include a cruiser bike or a kids bike, both of which come compliments of a local bicycle shop.

For those of you lucky enough to be in the vicinity of Eagle Town Park in Eagle, Colorado, the event is this Saturday at 4:00pm. Entry to the event is completely free, but the various activities on offer are used to raise money to support the EVLT. It’s not every day that you have an opportunity to combine your love for bingo variations with an opportunity to help preserve the majesty of the central Rocky Mountains, and that’s why the event has remained a favorite among local residents for years.

The popularity of bingo continues to grow with each passing week, and Cow Pattie Bingo is yet another example of the versatility of this classic game. Whether you’re close enough to try your luck at claiming Ol’ Bessie’s glory or not, it’s easy to see why the EVLT would turn to bingo as a fun and competitive way to raise funds for a good cause.

However, if you prefer your bingo with a little less of that famous manure aroma, the benefits of online casinos are difficult to overstate. With a full collection of amazing promotions, round-the-clock games to fit your schedule and an opportunity to win without needing to leave your home, playing bingo online is just about as good as it gets!
