There’s a big debate happening on Facebook, on Twitter, and in coffee shops across America—and around the world. No, we’re not talking about Obama vs. Romney. We’re talking about the bingo hall vs. the online bingo experience.
Today, we’re pitting them against each other in the ultimate battle for bingo supremacy. Hopefully this settles the online bingo vs. bingo hall debate once and for all. And if not, at least it’s a nice break from politics. Here we go…
Showdown #1: Convenience
The bingo hall: Unless you live on top of a bingo hall, it takes a bit of effort and planning to head to a bingo hall. And bingo halls don’t hold bingo games all the time. If it’s 4pm, but a bingo game doesn’t start until 7pm, you’re out of luck.
Online bingo: You’re playing with thousands of players from every corner of the planet. And that means someone, somewhere, is up for a game of online bingo. The virtual bingo hall is open 24/7, 365 days a year.
Winner: Online bingo. Being able to play on Christmas Day, if that’s your thing, gives online bingo the edge over the bingo hall when it comes to conveniences.
Showdown #2: Making new friends and socializing with old ones
The bingo hall: When you head to a bingo hall, you’ll be able to meet with friends, make new ones, and socialize while you play.
Online bingo: You’re pretty much stuck in your living room. But online bingo chat rooms let you chat and have fun with thousands of people while you play online bingo.
Winner: Tie. The bingo hall takes it in terms of human interaction. But let’s face it. Life happens online. That includes dating. That includes chatting with friends. And with online bingo, you can socialize with way more people than you can at a bingo hall. A bingo hall has a capacity that’s limited by a fire code. An online bingo hall’s capacity is virtually unlimited.
Showdown #3: Speed of the game
The bingo hall: If you’re looking for a more laid back bingo experience in terms of the speed of the game, the bingo hall is your best bet. While bingo games aren’t always necessarily slow, the pace is geared toward an older crowd.
Online bingo: Features like Autodaub and the ability to play up to 30 cards at once means there’s never a dull moment while you play online bingo.
Winner: Online bingo. We’re handing online bingo the win here because as a bingo player, you want to make money. Sure, you play because it’s entertaining. But nothing beats shouting, “Bingo!” and scoring a major prize. Since the speed of online bingo is faster than the speed of games at a bingo hall, you have the potential to win a lot more money, a lot faster.
If you wanted to you could play bingo all day, in a hall, on your phone, and on the internet, on multiple websites..— Eve Holyfield (@ohmygodmegann) May 2, 2012
And the winner is….
Online bingo by a hair. But remember, you don’t have to choose one and stick to it. Just like online poker players play in Vegas poker tournaments, and just like online casino players still hit the Blackjack tables at the Bellagio, online bingo players don’t have to shy away from land-based bingo halls. So keep an open mind and have fun out there—wherever you choose to play.
